Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson was a really good read about friendship and coming out of your shell.
It’s supposed to be an epic summer but then, Sloane disappears leaving behind her friend Emily and a list of 13 tasks. Sloane list contains all the things wallflower Emily is scared of doing. Kiss A Stranger. Go Skinny-Dipping. Steal Something. Break Something. Penelope. Ride A Dern Horse, Ya Cowpoke. 55 S. Ave. Ask for Mona. The Backless Dress. Dance Until Dawn. Share Some Secrets in the Dark. Hug a Jamie. Apple Picking At Night. Sleep Under the Stars. Emily hopes by completing the tasks she will find Sloane. Emily ends up finding herself coming out of her shy shell and making friends and memories of her own.
This book was a really quick read for me only taking a few days. The book had a playlist that you could play during the books which was something that I had never seen before but found really interesting! Another thing I loved about this book was that that was a lot of character growth even in the supporting characters (yay! no flat characters).
Next I am going to read Four! (I just watched Insurgent…did anyone else see it? What were your thoughts?)
